Tweed

When you think of Tweed fashion in Glasgow, you probably imagine the Scottish islands where the fabric is made. The Scottish highlands and border tweeds are distinguished by their plain green and brown patterns. Both are reminiscent of pipe bands and gamekeepers’ suits. This type of cloth is usually woven in Scotland’s soft water regions, including Gala and Ettrick. You may be surprised to learn that there are many different styles of this fabric.

Hollywood inspired fashion

Christopher Kane

The new collection from Scottish designer Christopher Kane was shot at Hill House, the asymmetric architectural masterpiece designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. In the collection, models wore white lace dresses embroidered with fritillaries and a black tunic adorned with bugle beads. The design included the iconic Glasgow rose motif. The location, which is known for its rich history, was an ideal backdrop for the designer’s Resort 2018 collection.
